UA House hosted the National Multi-Subject Test 2024 for Ukrainian high school grads
June 6, 2024, Sacramento, CA - For the third consecutive year, temporarily displaced Ukrainian high school graduates have been given a unique opportunity to take the Ukrainian National Multi-Subject Test remotely in Sacramento at UA House headquarters. The event was organized by Ukrainian American House in partnership with the Consulate General of Ukraine in San Francisco, Ukrainian School in Sacramento and Math Club with the support of the Ukrainian community.
Two test sessions were offered, both in the first week of June 2024 (June 1 and June 4, 2024). A total of 38 students took the NMT in Sacramento this year.
Vlad Skots, Founder and Co-chair of the Ukrainian American House, opened the official part of the event by congratulating the students on successfully passing the test and wishing them success in their academic pursuits. He also emphasized that the organization's doors are always open to those in need of help and highlighted the importance of unity within the local community and among all Ukrainians living abroad.
Dmytro Kushneruk, Consul General of Ukraine in San Francisco, delivered a speech emphasizing the importance of community during unstable times and highlighted the value of pursuing education in top-rated Ukrainian universities despite the ongoing Russian aggression. The aim is for the students to return to Ukraine and contribute to its restoration in the social, economic, and cultural spheres. “It’s very important that the Ukrainian government is just creating conditions for them to keep the connection with their country so that people are not refugees forever,” he said.
Caroleana Kvaterchuk Allison, Executive Director of UA House, delivered a speech emphasizing the crucial role of education in establishing a platform for effective bilateral cooperation in various spheres, including humanitarian, economic, cultural, educational, social, and political. “The focus on creating opportunities for both Ukraine and the United States aligns with the mission of UA House”, said Allison.

What is NMT?
In 2024, applicants for Bachelor's Degree programme (Master's Degree programme in medicine) have to pass the National Multi-subject Test (NMT) in order to apply for higher educational institutions in Ukraine with the aim of returning to Ukraine promoting its restoration in the social, economic and cultural spheres.
To ensure that Ukrainians living abroad exercise their right to enter universities of their native country, the NMT was held in many other countries in 2024, including the US. The NMT is coordinated by the Ukrainian Center for Educational Quality Assessment (UCEQA) directly from Kherson region, Ukraine.
This year, the test could be taken on either June 1st or June 4th. The NMT testing center was set up at the UA House headquarters in Rancho Cordova, located at 11290 Point E Dr, Rancho Cordova, CA 95742.
Test takers were able to get their test scores for each NMT block instantly on their computer screen after completing all the tasks. The exam results, converted to a scale from 100 to 200 points, will be available in their personal account on the website of the Ukrainian Center for Educational Quality Assessment (UCEQA) on July 2, 2024.
