Support Without Judgment

The Standing Beside Without Judgment workshop is part of the Domestic Violence Prevention Series organized by UA House and is designed to help participants better understand how to support individuals experiencing difficult or unsafe situations.
This session focuses on one of the most important — and often overlooked — aspects of support: the ability to be present without judgment. Participants will learn how to recognize signs that someone may be going through abuse, how to respond with empathy and care, and how to offer meaningful, practical support without causing additional pressure or harm.
During the workshop, we will discuss real-life scenarios, common mistakes people make when trying to help, and simple but effective ways to communicate in a supportive and respectful way. Special attention will be given to understanding emotional boundaries, building trust, and creating a safe space where a person feels heard and supported.
This event is especially valuable for anyone who wants to be more aware, compassionate, and prepared to support friends, family members, or community members who may be facing challenging situations.
By increasing awareness and equipping participants with practical tools, this workshop helps build a stronger, more supportive community where people feel safe to seek help and know they are not alone.
