UAHouse Participates in Emergency Coordination Meeting with Public Health Officials to Address Measles Concerns

The meeting was organized following confirmed cases of measles among children from Ukrainian families in the Sacramento area. As part of the public health response, representatives of the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) reached out to Ukrainian American House seeking support in helping inform the Ukrainian community and assist in preventing further spread of the infection.
The discussion provided an opportunity for public health officials and community leaders to review the current epidemiological situation, share reliable information, and coordinate preventive actions to ensure families receive timely guidance and support.
The meeting brought together representatives from several public health institutions and community organizations working closely with Ukrainian families in the region.

During the discussion, public health officials shared updates on the current situation and emphasized the importance of timely communication with families about symptoms, prevention, and vaccination. Community leaders discussed ways to ensure that accurate and accessible information reaches Ukrainian families as quickly as possible.
Representing Ukrainian American House, Denys Nakonechnyi and Olivia Babin contributed to the conversation by sharing insights from their direct work with newly arrived families and highlighting the importance of delivering public health information through trusted community channels, including community organizations, churches, and family networks.
The meeting also included participation from public health leaders from Sacramento County and Placer County, along with representatives of community organizations and Ukrainian faith leaders who help communicate important information to families across the region.
As a result of the meeting, Ukrainian American House confirmed its readiness to support ongoing outreach efforts by helping distribute verified public health information, assisting families in navigating available healthcare resources, and maintaining close communication with public health authorities.
Protecting the health and well-being of Ukrainian families remains a priority. Ukrainian American House will continue working with public health partners and community leaders to ensure families stay informed and supported during this time.
