Strong for Ukraine: Turning Strength into Support

Ukrainian and American athletes turned strength into meaningful support at Strong for Ukraine—a charity event that united fitness, wellness, and community action to help Ukrainian families and communities.

On August 15, 2026, Ukrainian American House and Pace Health and Fitness brought Ukrainian and American athletes together in Sacramento for Strong for Ukraine—a charity event that transformed physical strength and community solidarity into meaningful support for Ukraine.

Organized in collaboration with Monique Waters, owner and founder of Pace Health and Fitness, the event gathered athletes and community members at the American River College Track for a meaningful morning of movement, wellness, education, and compassion.

The program began with a unique workout called “The World’s Toughest Mile.” Athletes of different fitness levels completed a series of challenging activities, including burpee broad jumps, walking lunges, bear crawls, carries, and running exercises. Adapted options allowed advanced, intermediate, and beginner athletes to participate and contribute to the shared mission.

Following the workout, participants gathered for a catered breakfast at USKO Realty. The morning continued with the Nutrition for Health workshop, presented by medical provider Josh Pruitt, PA-C, and Monique Waters. The speakers shared practical information about healthy nutrition, physical wellness, and everyday habits that contribute to a healthier and more active lifestyle.

Strong for Ukraine demonstrated how fitness and community engagement can become powerful expressions of compassion. Ukrainian and American athletes trained side by side, built meaningful connections, and showed that every act of generosity can make a difference for families affected by the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Ukraine.

All proceeds from the event will benefit Ukrainian American House and its efforts to provide humanitarian and medical assistance to Ukrainian families and communities. Ukrainian American House was proud to co-organize the event, contribute to making it possible, and help ensure that the funds raised are directed toward supporting people in need in Ukraine.

We sincerely thank Monique Waters, Josh Pruitt, all participating athletes, volunteers, guests, and organizations whose contributions made this meaningful initiative possible.

Special thanks to our event partners: Pace Health and Fitness, USKO, Ethno FM, Arena, Beautiful People, and LifeLine Chiropractic.

Strong for Ukraine was more than a morning of fitness—it was a mission of hope and a powerful example of what can be achieved when strength is turned into support.

Together, we are stronger. Together, we stand with Ukraine.
